“Should’ve Known Better” is from Sawyer Fredericks' album Hide Your Ghost. The video for the song was filmed during a break from touring, on a sunny but very cold and windy day in December on Sawyer’s family farm in Upstate New York. The ground was frozen solid, which was a good thing because part of it was filmed in one of the recently inhabited cow pastures. The video had a massive four-person production: Sawyer, videographer Lindsey Morano, dancer and choreographer Abigail Emerson Harder, and Sawyer’s mom, driving the farm truck around for everyone to warm up in between takes. The beauty of the dying crops at the start of winter and the intimacy of filming at Sawyer’s family home made the setting a perfect match for the story in the song. Abigail's organic graceful dance further emphasizes the feeling of freedom that comes from knowing and being exactly who you are. Long-time sweethearts in real life, Abigail can be seen dancing throughout and haunting Sawyer’s memories as he reflects on what is gone yet still feels so painfully real and present.
