No Depression's Best of September 2026 Playlist

September's new music releases really illustrated the breath and depth of what roots music encompasses. Longstanding No Depression favorites like Mary Gauthier returned with a new batch of instant folk classics and Buddy Miller released his first solo album in more than 20 years. Plus, September saw up-and-coming roots musicians like Spotlight artist Jude Brothers and Angela Autumn really step into their own. Additionally, singer-songwriter Ian Noe came back from time away from the music industry with a "dazzling" effort and Joy Oladokun practiced clinging to hope.

All these artists and so many more are included in the new Qobuz playlist below. We're trying out yet another platform to try to figure out how best to share information and music while still supporting artists (but don't worry, we're still on Spotify and also on Deezer). In the meantime, don't forget to support nonprofit music journalism here at No Depression and become a member to read about these musicians and discover others.
