NO DEPRESSION SESSIONS at Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion: Denitia

Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion '25 drew us even deeper into the rich history of recorded music in the Tri-Cities area of Tennessee and Virginia. It's coming up on a century since Ralph Peer's 1927 Bristol Sessions introduced Jimmie Rodgers and the Carter Family to the world. The performance space inside of the The Birthplace of Country Music Museum – the cultural center dedicated to preserving and carrying the tradition forward – provided the most fitting studio location for us to add our own recordings to the already vast catalog.

Texas-born, Nashville-based singer-songwriter Denitia joined us in the BCMM to share two songs from her latest album Sunset Drive (ND album review here), and one from her album Highways.

On Sunset Drive, Denitia looks at the moments between life's chapters, when big decisions are made and their consequences begin to take shape. "This idea of Sunset Drive… is like me moving into the sunset, going towards the uncertainty of night, not knowing what the future will bring."
