The Woody Guthrie Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma announced a new special exhibit titled “The Melody of Riot: Jay Farrar, Son Volt, and the Legacy of Woody Guthrie.” Farrar, of course, founded Uncle Tupelo — the group whose record partially spurred the name of this here publication! — as well as Son Volt. The installation includes artifacts including past print issues of No Depression, the original Uncle Tupelo No Depression LP, instruments, posters, lyric sheets, and more. Check out some exclusive images below and visit the Center's website to learn more. Plus, copies of the Fall 2016 issue of No Depression (pictured above) are still available here.

RIP to Joe Hickerson, the former Archive Head of the American Folklife Center (AFC). This research center, structured within the Library of Congress, "documents and shares the many expressions of human experience to inspire, revitalize, and perpetuate living cultural traditions." The AFC has been a vital resource to No Depression and for all who seek to preserve, protect, and learn from American roots history. Read the AFC's tribute to Hickerson on their Facebook page.
