James Felice (of The Felice Brothers) has announced his sophomore solo album, Homeward Blue, will be released on Nov. 13 via Conor Oberst's Million Stars Records. The follow-up to 2025's The Little Ones was produced by Bright Eyes' Nate Walcott. Felice has dropped the record's first single, "Let Yourself Live," which you can listen to below. “There are no easy answers, you have failed yourself and others, and you are a fool. So this song is a celebration of that feeling,” he says of the track in the album's press materials. “I look for warmth and hopefulness in a world that is overwhelmingly dark and brutal. It may have a fatalistic impersonal twirl to it, but we get to map our meaning onto this life. I find that to be so beautiful, and so interesting — all of us small people and our petty concerns. There’s a lot of beauty to find.”
Today (Sept. 25), many cities across the country are celebrating Dolly Parton Day — get it? 9-2-5? — with festivities honoring the late legend, who died on Aug. 25. In Nashville, various buildings across the city will be lit up pink in honor of Parton, and venues and businesses will be blasting "9 to 5" when the clock strikes 5 p.m. ET. The city will also host a fireworks display beginning at 9:25 p.m. ET. “Dolly Parton’s impact on Nashville will be felt for generations, through the music she has given us, the people she has helped and the example she continues to set,” Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell said in a statement. “She has shown us that caring for a community means showing up for one another.” You can read more about what Music City has planned for Dolly Parton Day here.
