On So Long Little Miss Sunshine, Molly Tuttle leaves her bluegrass bedrock far behind to stake out new musical territory.
It was bound to happen. Since launching a music career barely into her teens and releasing two solo albums, a covers album, and two Grammy-winning albums as bandleader of Golden Highway, Tuttle has pushed the boundaries of bluegrass and, like any good artist, evolved along the way.
“That’s Gonna Leave a Mark,” the first single from So Long Little Miss Sunshine, got things off to a promising start when it was released at the beginning of summer. Befitting the season, the song is unabashedly pop and irresistibly fun, a laid back ode to giving in to a (possibly ill-advised) crush.
