On his own, Tony Trischka is considered one of the world’s foremost banjo players. He is comfortable paying tribute to tradition of bluegrass pioneers while also stepping outside the box and innovating. To his own substantial body of work, Trischka adds two mammoth tribute projects: the 2023, Grammy-nominated Earl Jam, followed by Earl Jam 2, set for release on March 13.
Even without the history-making homage to the great Earl Scruggs, the tracks on this project would rise to the top of bluegrass music. Trischka has assembled another stellar roster of talents in bluegrass, veterans in the genre and the brightest new stars. The songs selected for the project offer deep dives into the world of old-time music, classics from the American songbook, and even “Here Comes the Bride.”
