Mid-March 2026 was a humdinger of three Texas gatherings crucial to roots music, South by Southwest (SXSW), Willie Nelson’s Luck Reunion, and a tribute to Todd Snider, “Todd Snider Rules!”
Luck Reunion ( held on Nelson's ranch in Spicewood, Texas) is a one-day event (March 19, 2026). This year, organizers tacked on a second day devoted to the Snider tribute (March 20, 2026).
SXSW, on the other hand, is expansive multimedia affair that took over Austin, Texas (March 12-18, 2026). The music portion featured 1,746 music showcases by 1,207 performers from 49 countries spread across 93 separate genres held in 47 venues.
