We’ve made it almost halfway through 2025, and it’s been a hell of a ride so far. We live in a world marred by fear, division, hate, deceit, inequity, loss, death; the litanies of woe and hopelessness very often drown out the voices of hope. Where can we find strength to resist sinking into weary resignation? How can we foster community in the face of forces that seek to uproot and destroy our unity?
Both books and music bring us together; from the moment the first notes of a song or the opening sentences of a novel or memoir wash over us, we’re often swept away into another world. Once we return, we want to share the music or the book with others, bringing them into conversation with us and the art.
