In Lynchburg, Tennessee, about an hour outside Nashville, the historic Jack Daniel’s Distillery welcomes around 300,000 people annually. Visitors travel from around the globe to learn how Tennessee whiskey is made at America’s oldest registered distillery — which is also one of the largest in the world — and drink directly from the well, so to speak.
During tours of the campus, guests can see the cave covering a natural limestone spring and the source of the mineral-rich water used to make whiskey, as well as Lincoln County’s signature charcoal-filtering process — all crucial for creating Jack Daniel’s classic flavor and character.
But before the guided tour and tastings begin, as soon as someone first steps inside the Visitor Center, guests hear another special ingredient to the distillery’s success. Music is a rich tradition in the world of Jack Daniel’s.
