Ethereal singer-songwriter Zandi Holup met us at The Red Building on Nashville's Music Row during AMERICANAFEST 2025 to share three songs from her debut album Wildflower.
This No Depression session started with a heavy but hopeful song, "Mary Jane," written for a real life friend recovering from heroin addiction. Holup moved on to "Gas Station Flowers" next, a brutally honest song about accepting a partner's worst tendencies as an alternative to having no partner at all. The session wraps with "Cowgirls Don’t Cry," delivered in Holup's stunning Dolly-adjacent vibrato.
Please enjoy this performance, and stay tuned for more No Depression x AMERICANAFEST '25 sessions in the pipeline!
