ALBUM REVIEW: Patsy Cline Lives Again Live At The Ryman

Resurrecting the spirit of Patsy Cline was no problem for the 16 women tapped to represent the country legend last year at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. A bevy of country singers, not to mention a couple of rockers, showed up on that famous stage to honor Cline in a performance that took place in April 2024, premiered on PBS' Great Performance in November 2024, and has finally made its way to vinyl, CD, Blu-ray and DSPs.

The show seemed to jump across genres across its nearly 90-minute set. It started solidly twangy, with Mickey Guyton kicking off the event by covering “Walkin’ After Midnight,” Tami Neilson singing “Three Cigarettes In An Ashtray,” and county royalty Crystal Gayle performing "Always" — a reverential take on the Irving Berlin standard that Cline made her own anthem.
